Great hike with some scrambling up and down over rocks. Walking boots essential and do borrow a hazel walking stick at turn into loop to holy well (~1.5km mark). Path is well marked but first open slab area is a bit tricky - take your time and you’ll find them. The belted Galloway cattle are docile and fenced in. Enjoy the lake pier near hike end. Look out for the white goats on the home straight.

Lovely hike with great scenery and floral treats. Main loop has two well signed shorter turn-offs. Underfoot is firm but last km might be slippery in wet weather. Picnic area in bus carpark.
