I loved walking this trail, to be a lover of history and walk in the footsteps of one of Irish history most epic events was incredible. The trail wasn't perfect and did leave me frustrated at times. However, the amazing experiences I had, the truly lovely people I met, the beautiful scenes I saw and the deep humbling I felt at walking in history far outweighed the negatives.

I walked east to west over the Easter break. Beautiful and quiet especially west of Maynooth. It took me 4 days, wildcamping along the route. Water sources were limited but sufficient.
