Did this trail from Robertstown to Athy in October 2020 before they started laying down the cycle path. Got some decent weather. I was the only hiker which was nice. Will go back to do the rest of this trail soon, hopefully it's not all cycle track now.

We did the section from Donegal town to Glenties as we only had 2 days. Carried our tent, food and water with us. Camped at approximately mile 17 in a farmers field. We ran into him the next morning and he was happy we used his field and I imagine most farmers up there would be the same. Water taps or bottled sources are minimal/non existent but lots of running streams/rivers and we asked a guy in his front garden to fill a bottle and he was happy to do so. A good portion of trail is on roads which are really quiet and very enjoyable. Try to avoid the route shown on this app at mile ~18 but rather the alt route option. We didn鈥檛 and this section was largely on a busy road! We met no one actually walking the Bluestacks way and not many locals had heard of it which makes it very cool. Brilliant weekend

Great little hike to get away from the city and the history off the building and the building itself make the hike better. Amazing views @ night of Dublin. I highly recommend doing at night as it adds to the story off the building and maybe at Halloween 馃巸
