Love this loop of Carrauntoohil. Very challenging with fantastic ridge walks. Would suggest to those with high level of fitness and who are experienced hikers.

I got only as far as the last ridge. the conditions changed so I turned around. difficult trail, good boots and perhaps poles would be advised. mixed terrain- gravel paths, boulders to climb around/over, slippery rocks. pretty well marked, could do with fresh paint on the arrows soon and new marker poles. small carpark- free

Nice hike, almost all stone path, marked all the way up with white markers and a few crosses also.. 2.5 - 3 hrs up and back.

Lovely sea and cliff views. Suggest going clockwise for best sea views out and back. Wear walking shoes or boots if it has been raining as the cliff section can be quite mucky.
