The 21.7km point-to-point route from Knockree to Marlay Park near Rathfarnham, County Dublin, Ireland, can be walked in either direction and marks the first section of the longer 131km Wicklow Way – Ireland’s oldest marked trail. A varied and moderate hike, it takes in town, forest, mountain peaks and rivers, and impressive views over Dublin. It is predominantly off-road mountain trails with small road sections and is generally well-marked and maintained. This route climbs twice to around 1500 ft and then takes in the peak of Knockree (1295 ft).
Find a car park, cafes and other amenities in and around Marlay Park, whilst at the other end you’ll find supplies and a bed at Knockree Hostel.
