Navigating the Trail

The hike begins at the Crone Wood car park, where you'll find the trailhead marked by informative signage. The initial section of the trail is a steady climb through a lush forest, with the sounds of nature providing a tranquil backdrop.

As you ascend, the forest canopy opens up to reveal stunning views of the Powerscourt Waterfall, Ireland's highest waterfall, cascading down from the height of 121 metres (397 feet). The trail continues to wind upwards, with the terrain becoming rockier and more exposed.

Upon reaching the summit of Maulin Mountain, you are rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. To the north, you can see the Great Sugar Loaf Mountain, and on a clear day, the Irish Sea and the distant Wicklow Mountains are visible.
