Fantastic hike, views over Inagh valley, The Maamturks, Mweelrea, The 12 Bens and out towards the Atlantic, there is parking closer to Benbaun which will save you a km or 2, enough space here for 4 or 5 cars. Hike begins with a 2km walk on a dirt road which eventually comes to a river, if the river level is low can be crossed, but if there has been a spell of rain would be best to take off boots while crossing. Hike is not technical apart from one section being the decent down Muckanaght, this section is extremely steep there is no easy decent down this section towards Benbrack so I would advise bypassing this peak and head straight for Benbrack, Once descending Benbrack follow a sheep fence which will bring you to the road, during summer there is a thick growth of ferns near the bottom which can be difficult to get through. All in all great hike can be completed in 6 to 8 hours. Enjoy.

Tough trail, followed the route but gets up and down, when following the route in a loop be aware that coming back down the next valley on the return is very boggy, Done in June after we had good weather. Few heavy shower in the days before and the return was through wet bog. In drier wether it would be nice!!!. The other guy that I met on top came down quicker because at least the rocks and ground underneath was relatively dry!! Still definitely recommend this hike. It was beautiful and we did get a dry, sunny but windy day!!!!
