ROUTE OVERVIEW The final leg of the Hiraethog Trail. Leaving the deep woodlands of the Clocaenog Forest behind, Stage 3 opens up into the rolling agricultural landscape of the Vale of Clwyd. This section is faster and more pastoral, offering a scenic cooldown as you navigate ancient bridleways and country lanes towards the finish line at Bodfari.
THE TERRAIN A mix of quiet tarmac lanes, field edges, and established rights of way. The terrain is less rugged than Stage 1 and less enclosed than Stage 2, but navigation through the network of farm tracks can be intricate. The route concludes by climbing out of the valley to meet the Offa's Dyke National Trail at Bodfari.
CHALLENGE RATING Moderate. The legs will be tired by this point, but the terrain is forgiving. The main challenge here is maintaining pace and focus on the final stretch to the finish.
NOTE The trail officially ends in Bodfari, connecting with the Offa's Dyke Path.
