Loop
A circular hike from rural Shropshire, ideal for experienced hikers and beginners with good fitness.
The route covers about 12.4 miles over rolling countryside and offers what is arguably the best view in Shropshire from Caer Caradoc, with around 3,009 feet of ascent and 3,236 feet of descent. This hike offers steady but manageable climbs plus a couple of steep sections where a steady pace is your friend.
Expect quiet lanes, open fields, and classic Shropshire views, including the Longmynd, Wenlock Edge along with Caer Caradoc, the Lawley and The Wrekin lining up before you.
The start and end points are close together for easy logistics and there is a vending hut at the start/finish for some well earned refreshments. A full‑day outing at a relaxed pace.
