Within the breath-taking Wilsons Promontory National Park, Victoria, the Squeaky Beach Pillar Point Norman Bay Trail awaits. An 8 mi looped trail that starts and ends at the Tidal River Visitors Centre, this spectacular coastal trail is graded as Medium difficulty, and is a combination of many short walks, brought together to form a fantastic day hike and the perfect way to showcase the best of the national park. Named ‘the most photographed beach at Wilsons Prom’, this trail will have you strolling along the squeaky white sands of Squeaky Beach, crossing the Tidal River, meandering past wildflowers and coastal heathland, and walking along the picturesque turquoise waters of Norman Beach – truly an unmissable walk. Usually completed in around 4 – 5 hours, this is an ideal day hike; pack a picnic, plan a refreshing swim or surf in the crystal clear waters and enjoy your exploration, even extending your stay if you wish, at the Tidal River campground, open to camping and caravanning, with toilets, showers, laundry facilities and picnic areas. To ensure it’s a family-friendly and suitable for all, cut this trail short to suit, with some sections, including trail at Squeaky Beach, considered suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Dogs are not allowed in the Wilsons Promontory National Park for the protection and conservation of the park and its wildlife.
