Absolutely loved it. My husband and I started 20th June 2017, completed 28th August 2021. 70 days walking total. We suggest joining the South West Coastal Path Association as they do a brilliant job maintaining the path. Plan thoroughly. If you have the time and energy to wild camp and do it in one go, then go for it. We enjoyed the relaxed pace, time to take photos and enjoy the scenery. If you are thinking about doing it, just do it. Don't call it a dream, call it a plan.

I just completed the SWCP in 35 days, mostly wild camping. I've been going back and forth between giving the south path four stars or five stars. In the end looking back I had to give it 5 for the overall experience, it was so rich with the highs and lows of a life time. Highlights are the unbelievable sunsets, the wonderful costal wildcamps, golden beaches and colourful cafes. But this is not a perfect trail, its very much its own beast. You can't approach this in the same way as any other thruhike. Some of the frustrating challenges I faced include extreme heat, ridiculous overgrown paths that left my legs scratched to pieces, stupid amount of ferry crossings that got expensive and occasionally left me stuck on one side losing hours of hiking time, most of the official campsite on route are over priced - completely full and not set up for hikers and the biggest minus for me - this is not a wilderness experience - there are people everywhere - it's not often you will get that feeling of being completely out there - and not often you will go hours without seeing another person. (Maybe once or twice on the North side of the coast) I'd recommend if you're looking for this try another trail or hike outside of the summer months. Final thoughts though - the southwest coast path is flipping stunning and an epic experience.

completed the entire hike in 31 day in May/June 2021. My pro-tips are 1. expect poor sign posting for much of the southern section especially on National Trust land. 2. for overseas visitors be prepared for wet weather,(I had rain on 40% of the days hiked). 3. Don't hesitate to come inland off the hike and see the villages which are often as charming as anything on the coast.

Outstanding. What a fabulous hike. I’d walk it again and again but there are other places to see.

This was the first walk thru that I did by myself back in spring 2013...I started in Bodman and joined the trail at The Rock and continued east.......hiking countries is now an obsession
