Challenging route from Rhyd-Ddu, climbing about 1,829 ft over 3.24 miles with very little descent, so expect a sustained uphill effort. The trail begins near the small village of Rhyd-Ddu and heads east toward open slopes with expansive views of Snowdonia’s peaks and valleys. Steep sections and rough ground make this suitable for experienced hikers, but the dramatic mountain scenery rewards the effort.
