Beautiful trail, easy to follow and well marked. I thought I would try to road walk between Thomastown and Bennetbridge, figuring there might be a shoulder, got barely 1k in before realizing it was way too dangerous. Busses and coaches on the small R700. A really lovely and easy hike that鈥檚 well worth it! Don鈥檛 miss the She Bean, a nice place to grab a coffee or a treat literally on the trail!

Nice easy walk that hugs the river Nore in the first part, with a medium gradient up to a road that loops back down to Thomastown. There is also a rope swing around 3/4 of the way along the river bank section, which is nice. Would be suitable for most people although it would be more difficult in wet weather.

A pleasant and unchallenging trail, it takes in the last leg of the Kilkenny-Bennettsbridge trail along the River Nore and an interesting old pathway passed over by the Dublin-Waterford train line. About a third of the walk is along country road, and another third through fields. These fields are working pastures, so dogs are not welcome and accessibility may be an issue where there are step-overs. This is not a trail for those looking to work up a sweat or admire stunning landscapes, but it would be a nice leisurely walk before or after visiting a cafe or studio in the village. It is also useful for some low intensity trail running for beginners.
