Beautiful trail! It has it all- beaches, mountains, forest trails, cute towns, great pubs, awesome people. You can read more details about my trip on www.galzgonewild.com in our blog section.

Nice hike, almost all stone path, marked all the way up with white markers and a few crosses also.. 2.5 - 3 hrs up and back.

This is a spectacular trail. With good visibility you get incredible views of the reeks. Bagging a few other peaks along the way too. Not waymarked at all and the route line is rough. Quite technical in parts and also very steep. Worth stopping at the mound looking over muckross lake.

Did the Maulin section of the North Kerry Way as a short 4hr loop up from Ballyheigue beach in August 2020. Although it was a dry day, it had rained on and off in the previous week, so the trail on the north side of the hill was basically a riverbed. Recommend taking the lower cliff road instead of Ballylonglane for better views and a detour to the little pier along the way.
