Point-to-Point
The hike is rated difficult because there is a lot of uneven terrain with passage over partially steep rocks. There are also a lot of stairs and it's a constant up and down which can be tiring. You can reach the trail head easily by train (station "Schmilka Hirschmühle") and cross the river by ferry. At the end of the hike please be aware that the last part on the side of the road can be a stretch to your motivation after being already tired and that the distance from the ferry crossing (the end of this hike) to the train station ("Krippen") is yet another 1.5 km. Despite looking like a short hike, this is a full day's tour, especially when you want to enjoy one of the greatest sceneries the Sächsische Schweiz has to offer.
