We started the walk from the Upton Inn who kindly allowed us to use their large space to park (we also finished with a spot of lunch here too). From the car park we headed out to North Stoke taking in St Marys Church before continuing up to the Fort at Lansdown and around to Prospect Stile. With the cloud so low we didnt get the usual view out over Weston and Kelston. From Prospect Stile we dropped down before again varying out route, this time taking the permissive path directly up on Kelston Round Hill. From here it was familiar, picking up the path leading down to the railway footpath. Timed this part nicely as the train was just pulling in to the Riverside Station as we passed. The Railway path was surprisingly quiet which was great and likewise we hardly saw a sole on the small section of the Monarchs Way back to the Inn.
