This demanding 6.4 km loop from near Cumberland packs in about 457 m of ascent and 463 m of descent over roughly 2 hours. Steep, sustained climbs and uneven terrain make it suitable for fit, experienced hikers. The route explores the rugged Cumbrian landscape with changing views of surrounding fells and valleys before returning to the starting point, rewarding effort with a strong sense of accomplishment.
