After another 4 km (2.48 miles), you will emerge from the woods near Peel Wyke, a small hamlet on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake. Return Loop The final leg of the loop takes you along the edge of the lake before ascending back into the fells. This section is more challenging, with a steeper incline and rocky terrain.
