Stage 4 Littleport - Downham Market 12 miles . The first 4 miles are walked alongside the river but always within 50m of the busy A10 and the traffic noise is horrendous. A peaceful rural stretch follows from Southery to Ten Mile Bank where all you can hear is the birds. At Ten Mile Bank the Way changes sides and there is a long stretch of pleasant road walking adjacent to the wide, slow moving River Ouse until you reach Denver Sluice. Here, marvel at the technology that keeps the North Sea at bay and ensures the flat fenland remains dry. The final two miles is easy going on flat meandering washland with the tidal River Ouse on the left hand side. The station is a 1/4 mile away.

okayish, nice walking by the Cam and the Ouse. Some areas are overgrown with gorse bushes and thorny vines and unlevel footing and it is not fun to walk through, do not wear shorts. 39 miles is a long walk especially when it's flat as a pancake and it can get quite boring. Be aware of the cows, I've taken to carrying an air horn as the fields where they roam be very narrow and they can be quite aggressive .
