I was fortunate to hike the track after 2 days of good snow fall. About 1 foot fell & drifts were up to 5ft in some parts. Spectacular views. Lots of native fauna around. Well maintained cabins & tent platforms. Pristine world heritage national park.

Nice trail this, distance from Lowood to Esk is 35km so it’s a bit of a stretch. There is a small town 15km out of Esk but with no camping available the only other place is Esk. Esk to Toogoolawah is an easy 20km hike camping is just on the other side of the town. Next stop should be Linville 36km, another long hike. You can stop at another town before that but cattle trucks rumble though it all knight, so getting a good night sleep is almost impossible. Linville has a great pub and plenty of free camping across the road. The hike up to Blackbutt is simple awesome and picturesque, 25km all uphill but it’s only a slight accent. The hot showers at the camp ground and the one of the best bakeries around make Blackbutt a must stay.
