Your trip starts with train journey from easy-to access Glasgow, that leads along the coast and to the shores of Loch Lomond. From there you will take a ferry trip across beautiful Loch Lomond before following the West Highland Way hiking trail, one of the classic long-distance hikes of the world, taking you into the heart of the Highlands. There is time for a day trip to Oban, Scotland’s seafood capital before you cross the most remote parts of the Highlands by train on your way to the Great Glen. A hike into Fort William is followed by a last train journey to the port town of Mallaig. This is the same route followed by the famous Jacobite steam train, known from the Harry Potter movies.
