I walked this in late summer 2020 and it was very well maintained for most of the length. I can’t remember any washouts or big wet areas, although it may be a different story in the spring. I saw lots of bikers out in all different sections, but not very many walkers. **It is a rail-to-trail situation, so it is completely flat. If you’re looking for something technical and challenging this is not for you!** BUT it goes through some beautiful little communities and gives you an idea of the history of the railways that went through these areas and the work it must have taken to build them. It took me 4 days, although it could easily be done in 2 or 3 if you’re up for some big miles, which is what flat trails are good for. This trail is local to me, so I went home every night. Most of the trail goes through private land, so camping is discouraged, but there may be camping or lodging in some of the towns it passes through. I know Chaffey’s Locks has cheap camping for hikers and boaters.
