Pinnacles Track Loop

This short 4.7 km loop trail is located near Martinborough, Wellington and leads to the Putangirua Pinnacles and the Pinnacles Lookout. The pinnacles are a geological formation and are a fine example of badlands erosion. Scenes from Lord of the Rings were filmed at this popular location. A great family hike with older children, where dogs are also allowed, the trail is rated as moderate, there are some steep sections and an off line map is recommended as there are reports that the trail is not well way marked.
