Bluff Lookout Walk

Take to the mountains and caves on this magnificent Bluff Lookout Walk, a 2 mi looped trail that starts and ends at the Glory Cave car park within New South Wales’s largest national park, the fascinating Kosciuszko National Park. Home to mainland Australia’s highest mountain, Mount Kosciuszko at 2,228 metres, the national park is a favourite for hiking, peak-bagging, mountain biking, camping, cave exploration, and wildlife and bird watching. The Bluff Lookout Walk trailhead is approximately 100m from the Yarrangobilly Caves Visitor Centre and is graded as Difficult due to the rough terrain and steep sections. Also, check our latest community posts for trail updates.This trail is usually completed in 1 – 2 hours and takes in several of the captivating caves in the area if you wish to explore underground, from the South Glory Cave, Jersey Cave and Yarrangobilly Caves, to the Jillabenan Caves, which are also one of just 4 wheelchair accessible caves in Australia, and not forgetting, the highlight of the trail, the views from the Bluff lookout, far-reaching high above Yarrangobilly Caves House and over the lush canopy of the national park and its surrounding peaks. Noted for its fantastic accessibility for all, the impressive Jillabenan Caves are a must for families and anyone with mobility difficulties. Guided tours are available to book online, and there is parking approximately 150m away from the cave entrance at the Jillabenan Cave car park which itself is approximately 1km from the visitor centre.
