Crone Woods - Maulin Mountain Loop

Starting and finishing in Crone Woods carpark, this easy moderate 6.9 km loop trail will take you high up on the slopes of Mount Maulin and is a great destination for day hikers, trail runners and families alike. Marvel at the spectacular views over the green and rolling Wicklow countryside, the county known as the ‘Garden of Ireland’. The famous Powerscout Waterfall and Great Sugar Loaf mountain can both be seen from the trail, as can the city of Dublin and Dublin Bay in the distance. The trail has an elevation gain of just over 1000 ft and it takes around 2 to 3 hours to walk the entire loop. For naturalists there are five different species of pine tree to look out for in the trail’s woodlands.
