One of Ireland’s highest mountains, Glatymore is the highest in the Galtee Mountains, a range which stretches between the counties of Limerick and Tipperary for 30 km. To climb its 919 m and experience the amazing views from the summit, start in Galty Castle Wood, King’s Yard where there are signs for this loop path which will take around 6 hours or so to complete. Rated as a strenuous trail, expect to climb a bit in places but also make sure you stop and take in the spectacular scenery along the way. Dogs are not permitted on this trail due to the presence of sheep.
