The Slieve Blooms are a hidden gem in Ireland. Generally the trails here are quiet compared to some of the more well-walked trails in Wicklow and Killarney. This trail offers both stunning views over the surrounding landscape and the beautiful nature of the Slieve bloom mountains.
Starting on the Ridge of Capard car park (Free car park), this 4km trail follows a series of wooden railway sleepers towards the Ridge of Capard and then down towards the River Barrow. It then rejoins the Slieve Bloom way to route back to the car park.
Dogs are allowed on the route, but must be kept on a leash. The trail is family friendly, but would not be suitable for strollers.
