Juan de Fuca Marine Trail trail reviews

Beautiful trail. Chin Beach is forever going to hold a very special place in my heart... but this trail is NOT easy. I understand that the app probably automatically calculates the difficulty based on the altitude gain over distance... but the challenge of this trail comes from the mud, terrain and poorly maintained trail conditions that create more hazards. You'd be hard pressed to make 3k/hr on this relatively flat trail. I usually do 4.5k/hr on even uphill climbs for more polished trails. JDF will feel like a multi-day obstacle course at several points. But it's stunning and there's so many pockets of interesting and diverse ecosystems in such a short space... just do it!
