Langtang National Park is located in the Langtang region of Nepal. It is approximately 70 kilometers north of Kathmandu. Nearby cities and towns include Kathmandu, Syabru Besi, and Helambu. Langtang National Park was established in 1976 and is one of the oldest national parks in Nepal. It was severely damaged by the 2015 earthquake but has since recovered. The park offers limited parking facilities, with a few small parking areas located near the entrance. There are no specific rules or fees for parking. Langtang National Park is home to a variety of native wildlife species, including red pandas, Himalayan black bears, snow leopards, and musk deer. The park is also known for its population of Langur monkeys. The park is dominated by coniferous forests, with common plant species such as pine, fir, and rhododendron. There are also alpine meadows and glaciers at higher elevations. Langtang National Park is home to several notable features, including Langtang Lirung (7,245 meters), the highest peak in the park, and the Langtang River. There are also several Buddhist monasteries and gompas located within the park. Public transport is available to get to Langtang National Park. The most common way to reach the park is by bus from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi, followed by a trek of several days. There are also helicopter tours available for those who prefer a more direct route.
