The park’s flora is equally diverse, with towering eucalyptus forests, including blackbutt, blue gum, and turpentine trees. There are also pockets of rainforest filled with tree ferns, coachwood, and lilly pilly. In spring, wildflowers like wattle and native orchids bring bursts of color to the landscape. Key features include the Gap Creek Falls, a picturesque waterfall that can be accessed by a short walk, and the stunning views from Mount Warrawolong, the highest peak in the area. The historic Boarding House Dam is another popular site, offering a peaceful picnic spot. Public transport to the park is limited, and most visitors arrive by private vehicle. The park is accessible via several roads from nearby towns, making it a convenient day trip from Newcastle or Sydney.
