Starting near Pierce County, Washington, the Soundview Trail is a picturesque loop trail that spans approximately 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) with an elevation gain of around 100 meters (328 feet). This medium-difficulty trail offers a blend of natural beauty and historical significance, making it a rewarding experience for hikers of various skill levels.
#### Forested Sections The trail begins with a gentle ascent through lush, forested areas filled with towering Douglas firs and Western red cedars. This section is particularly beautiful in the spring and fall when the foliage is vibrant. Keep an eye out for native wildlife such as black-tailed deer and various bird species, including the Pacific wren and the Steller's jay.
#### Coastal Views As you progress, the trail opens up to stunning coastal views of Puget Sound.
