Woke up at 3:30 am to arrive by 5:00 am and catch sunrise on the way up. In late July this hike was chilly until 7:00 am and very warm for the rest. The climb was quite rigorous, the view at the lake was beautiful. We finished around 12:00, and the parking situation was a nightmare compared to the early morning. I would recommend arriving very early to beat the crowd.
