Wildlife is abundant, with chances to spot deer, elk, and various bird species. Keep an eye out for black bears, especially in the fall when they are foraging for food.

Historical Significance

The region has a rich history, with the trail passing through areas once inhabited by Native American tribes. Artifacts and old campsites can occasionally be found, so tread lightly and respect these historical sites. The trail also intersects with old logging roads, remnants of the early 20th-century logging industry that once thrived in the area.

Preparation and Safety

Given the trail's length and elevation gain, it's crucial to be well-prepared. Carry sufficient water, high-energy snacks, and a first-aid kit. Weather can change rapidly, so pack layers and rain gear. The trail can be muddy and slippery, especially after rain, so sturdy hiking boots are recommended.
