As you progress, the trail becomes steeper, and you'll encounter a series of switchbacks. Around the 4-kilometer (2.5-mile) mark, you'll reach a small clearing that offers your first panoramic view of the surrounding Cascade Range. This is a great spot to take a short break and hydrate.

Continuing on, the trail narrows and becomes rockier. At approximately 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) in, you'll come across French Cabin Creek, which you will need to cross. Depending on the season, the water level can vary, so be prepared with waterproof boots or an extra pair of socks.
