At approximately 1 km (0.6 miles) into the hike, you'll encounter a small waterfall, a perfect spot for a quick rest and some photos. Continuing on, the trail gradually becomes steeper as you approach the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
The Bonneville Shoreline Trail follows the ancient shoreline of Lake Bonneville, a prehistoric lake that once covered much of Utah. This historical aspect adds a unique dimension to your hike, as you traverse what was once the lake's edge.
As you ascend, the vegetation transitions from dense forest to more open scrubland. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including mule deer and various bird species. The area is also known for its wildflowers, particularly in the spring and early summer.

The descent follows the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, which is less steep but offers equally stunning views. The trail loops back towards Taylor Canyon, completing the circuit. The final stretch is a gentle downhill walk, bringing you back to the trailhead.
