For those relying on public transport, the nearest major city is Provo, from where you can take a bus to American Fork and then a taxi or rideshare to the trailhead.### Trail OverviewThe Pine Hollow Trail, South Fork Little Deer Creek Trail, and Willow Hollow Trail loop takes you through a diverse landscape of dense forests, open meadows, and rugged mountain terrain. The trail is well-marked, but it's advisable to use the HiiKER app for navigation to ensure you stay on track.### Pine Hollow TrailStarting from the trailhead, the Pine Hollow Trail ascends gradually through a mixed forest of aspen and pine. The first 3 km (1.9 miles) offer a steady climb with an elevation gain of about 200 meters (656 feet). Keep an eye out for mule deer and wild turkeys, which are commonly seen in this area. The trail then opens up into a meadow, providing stunning views of the surrounding peaks.### South Fork Little Deer Creek TrailAt approximately the 5 km (3.1 miles) mark, you'll transition onto the South Fork Little Deer Creek Trail. This section is known for its lush vegetation and the soothing sounds of the creek that runs parallel to the trail. The next 4 km (2.5 miles) involve a more strenuous climb, gaining another 300 meters (984 feet) in elevation. This part of the trail is particularly beautiful in the fall when the leaves change color, creating a vibrant tapestry of reds, oranges, and yellows.### Willow Hollow TrailThe final leg of the loop is the Willow Hollow Trail, which begins around the 9 km (5.6 miles) point.
