Rudno Polje & Pl. Konjscica Loop - Upper Limits UK

o finish the week off we headed up to Planina Konjšča to sample some local food, Jota Klobaso (Sauerkraut Stew with Sausage) followed by Jabolčni Zavitek (Apple Roll). Started this short route from Rudno Polje main car park. There is a free area for Military personnel and, if your looking to stay out on the hills there is alternative parking at the 3 mile / 4.8KM point of this walk (not sure how that works but there is a Warden in the main carpark during the main season to ask. otherwise is currently 7 for the day in the main car park. From here follow the signs toward Triglav. After the steep start and a short exposed section, look out for the signs that take you down to the meadow below. if you have good nav skills you can simply cut the corner by following the Arete to meet the main path. The choice of local food at the hut is limited but its delicious and worth a visit even after returning from a higher level walk such as Veliki Draski, Studorski Preval, Tosc or even Triglav! Remember you will pay as much as in a good restaurant though as these are Mountain Huts but well worth supporting.
