Out and Back
I started my walk at Porlock Weir, there is a good car park which you have to pay for and there are toilets too.
I headed out towards Gore Point and along the beach this part of the path is not accessible at very high tides or in bad weather as the route is flooded.
I picked up the path further along the beach which heads up towards Culbone church a very pretty church there was a service going on when I got there so couldn’t go inside.
I carried on up the path which is very undulating as lots of the original routes have been rerouted due to lots of landslides through combine wood and embelle wood till I came to a split in the path which was going to be my point for a circular, however as there were so many landslides and paths rerouted, the path I was going to be taking back is not so well used and wasn’t sure if the same would have happened there.
As there is no signal on the coast path and I would have been on my own on the other path I decided it was safer to return back the way I had come.
There was a slight variation at the end coming back into Porlock Weir Car Park which was a nice finish to the walk. In total today it was 11 miles.
