Padley Gorge via Lawrencefield Quarry and Toad's Mouth

Enjoy spectacular views and the beautiful changing scenery of the Peak District as you start from the Surprise View car park. The route takes you towards Padley Gorge, passing through Lawrencefield Quarry with a short detour to the impressive pool wall. When you reach Grindleford railway station, you will find a cafe, which could be an excellent spot for a break. The path continues along charming Burbage Brook, then crosses over to the other side of the gorge and ascends the rough steps path before finishing at Hathersage Road. Before returning to the starting point, you will have a fantastic view of Toad's Mouth Rock.

Be cautious on the rougher sections, especially in wet conditions. Suitable footwear is recommended.
