Out and Back
The Glendalough Miners’ Road Walk, also known as the Purple Route, is an easy out-and-back walk from the Upper Lake car park to the old Miners’ Village. The trail follows the northern shore of Glendalough Upper Lake, with the lake on your left on the way out and beautiful views across to the Spinc cliffs.
The route is mostly flat and easy to follow, passing through woodland before reaching the historic mining ruins after around 2.5 km. It is a great choice for beginners, families, and anyone looking for an easy but scenic walk in Glendalough.
