Compton Hill & Crook Peak - Upper Limits UK

A rather foggy and wind swept trip out onto Compton Hill & Crook Peak today. As always, with a route done previously, we put in a variation. Starting out from Cross, where there is free road side parking, we headed east and picked up the Byway heading north to the West Mendip Way. Rather than following the path up to the trip point on Wavering Down, we turned east to pick up firstly Yardley then Eastwell lane to St James’s Church at the bottom of Church Knoll. We then headed south and up to Hill Farm and back onto the West Mendip Way. It was a familiar route off from here.
