Loop
A varied circular walk through open fields, quiet lanes and the wooded banks of the River Greta. Along the way, the route passes the ruins of St Mary’s Church at Brignall, a small unnamed cave in Brignall Banks, Mortham Tower, St Mary’s Church at Rokeby and the Morritt Arms at Greta Bridge. There is some road walking and the route crosses the A66, so care is needed. The woodland path through Brignall Banks can also be overgrown in places, but it is a peaceful and atmospheric section of the walk.
