Started the week off with this gem and my penultimate walk of 2025, a fairly flat route for the #SWCP. Starting out of Abbotsham heading west on good roads and paths to pick up the Coastal Path. The path heads north east all the way to Westward Ho. I decided to also take in Kipling Tors, named after Rudyard Kipling who went to School nearby and frequented the gorse covered for as a young boy. The first path leading up onto the Tor is very overgrown, even at this time of year so easy to snag a jacket if not careful. I turned back and found a better route up further along the main path. Once off the Tor, I headed down to the sea front and out over the first section of Northam country park before turning off South West to head out towards Buckleigh & Silford Cross to take in Kenwith Castle. The path is a bit sketchy from here and I would advise getting land owners permission before going off piste! I rejoined my planned route south of Whitehouse Cross. An easy uphill section that took me right past "The Thatched Inn".! The pub does great food, is extremely busy and also has some good local ales too. Would have been rude not to sample one.
