After about 3.5 km (2.2 miles), you'll reach the junction with the Bote Mountain Trail, where you'll take a sharp left turn to continue your climb.

The trail gets steeper here, and you'll gain a significant amount of elevation over the next 3 km (1.9 miles). At approximately 6.5 km (4 miles) from the start, you'll reach the famous Appalachian Trail (AT) junction at Spence Field. Turning east onto the AT, you'll hike along the ridge with breathtaking vistas on either side. The trail here can be rocky and uneven, so watch your footing.
