What to expect
Lockyer Valley, Queensland opens onto a quieter side of the state, where farmland rises toward the Great Dividing Range and short drives lead to striking lookouts and steep climbs. Base yourself near Gatton or Laidley, then head for Table Top Mountain by Toowoomba, the forested Winder Track, or the dramatic rim country beyond. It is a region of open skies, escarpment edges, and rewarding summit views.
