Água Retorta - São Miguel via Cascata das Fagundas

This short but surprisingly demanding circular walk explores one of the most secluded corners of eastern São Miguel, linking the village of Água Retorta with the hamlet of Fagundas and a detour to Cascata das Fagundas. The route is about 5.1 km / 3.2 miles with roughly 300 m / 984 ft of ascent, and although the distance is modest, the gradients, uneven ground, and often damp footing make it feel harder than the mileage suggests.
