This is a very challenging trail that takes in the seven summits over 700m in the Mourne Mountains. This is a steep, undulating trail where the path is not always distinct, so a good level of fitness, mountain experience, and navigational skills are essential for this trail. This trail should only be attempted in calm, clear, and dry conditions with perfect visibility.
The seven peaks climbed as part of this route are Slieve Binnian, Slievelamagan, Slieve Donard, Slieve Commedagh, Slieve Bearnach, Slieve Meelmore, and Slieve Meelbeg. Although Slieve Meelmore was found to be lower than 700 m in 2004, this summit remains part of the challenge as a nod to tradition.
Take care with navigation and footing along this challenging route, especially when the rocks are wet and very slippery. Appropriate footwear, warm and waterproof layers, and plenty of food and water are essential.
