The Zevenlinden Weg and Nonnenland Loop is a scenic 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) trail located near Lage Vuursche in the province of Utrecht, Netherlands. Getting There
To reach the trailhead, you can drive or use public transportation. If driving, set your GPS to the entrance of the campsite on Zevenlindenweg in Lage Vuursche, where parking is available. For public transport, take a train to Hilversum station, then a bus to Lage Vuursche; from there, it's a short walk to the trailhead.
Trail Overview
Starting at the campsite entrance on Zevenlindenweg, the trail begins with a gentle walk through the lush forests of Lage Vuursche. The initial 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) are relatively flat, allowing hikers to immerse themselves in the serene woodland atmosphere.
Kuil van Drakensteyn
Approximately 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) into the hike, you'll encounter the Kuil van Drakensteyn, a notable recreation area featuring a restaurant and picnic spots. This is an excellent place to take a short break and enjoy the surroundings.
Nonnenland Wetlands
Continuing on, the trail leads to the Nonnenland, an open wetland area that contrasts sharply with the dense forests. This section offers unique flora and fauna, including various bird species attracted to the wetlands. The open landscape provides expansive views and a sense of tranquility.
De Stulp Heathland
