Keep an eye out for white-tailed deer, red foxes, and a variety of songbirds that inhabit the area.

Historical Significance

Lebanon Hills Park has a rich history, with evidence of Native American habitation dating back thousands of years. The park's name is derived from the early settlers who named it after the biblical cedars of Lebanon, reflecting the area's dense forestation. Informational plaques along the trail provide insights into the region's history and its significance to both indigenous peoples and early European settlers.

Trail Conditions

The trail is mostly dirt and gravel, with some sections that can become muddy after rain. Good hiking boots are recommended to navigate these areas comfortably. There are a few wooden bridges and boardwalks that cross over small streams and wetland areas, adding to the trail's charm.

Final Stretch

As you near the end of the loop, you'll pass through a series of rolling meadows before returning to the visitor center. These open areas offer a different perspective of the park, with sweeping views and the opportunity to see more wildlife, such as hawks and ground squirrels.
