At the time of writing in April 2024 the Obelisk bridge was closed for maintenance, so the second half of the way back is along the way out. Exit the car park at the bottom of the Townley Hall Woods and proceed east on the path parallel to the N51 to the junction with the Slane Road southbound. You will have to cross the N51 to rejoin the outbound route. Beware traffic - the N51 is a busy 80km/h road and some people may be driving faster than that. The rest of the way back is quiet.
